CORCOVADO / CHRIST OF THE REEDEMER STATUE
After the pick-up we will start the tour to Corcovado Hill from Copacabana beach. We will drive along Botafogo beach passing by the Guanabara Palace, the official residence of the State Governor, on route to Laranjeiras and Cosme Velho districts, where you will be able to appreciate the old Coffee farm homes of the 1800s. The tour then will reach Tijuca Forest, with a stop at Paineiras to board the official vehicles of the National Park Authority to be able to reach the top of the Corcovado Hill. From there you will be able to admire The Christ of the Redeemer statue, which has 38m in height and was made of reinforced concrete clad in a mosaic of thousands of triangular soapstone tiles, and also will have a chance to see some of the most beautiful views of the city. The visit to the monument will last around 45 minutes.
Remark: In case of poor visibility on the summit of the Corcovado, we will make an alternative stop at the look out point, Mirante Dona Marta (362m), generally less affected by cloudiness.
On the way down, en route to Sugar Loaf, we will see Largo do Boticário and Casa dos Abacaxis, relics of the Brazilian Empire. We will continue along Botafogo beach towards Praia Vermelha, in the district of Urca, passing by the imposing neo-classical buildings of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, the Institute Benjamim Constant for the blind and the National Institute for Mineral Resources reaching the almost centenary Sugar Loaf cable-car station (the first service in South America and the world´s third oldest).

SUGAR LOAF MOUNTAIN
We will travel to the top in two steps by cable car. The first will take you to Urca Hill, at the height of 220 meters above sea level where you already will have great views from Baia de Guanabara. From there, after enjoying the views for a bit, will take the second cable car all the way to the top of Sugar Loaf Mountain, 396 meters above sea level. From up there, you will have a chance to see the most breathtaking views of Rio de Janeiro and will definitely understand why everyone says that Rio is “The wonderful city”
